He’s strong, he’s dependable, he’s loyal, he’s loving, he’s good-looking, though not as good-looking his dad.
He’s stubborn as his father was. And he’s got his dad’ love of music and live music and of music writing so much so that he wrote a lovely song for me and performed at Sarah and Chris’s wedding.
He wrote a most wonderful song for his grandmother’s funeral and I’m guessing he’s got a surprise up his sleeve tonight and I know Barry would have been really really proud of him to have live music here.
Barry was a musician and he was very passionate about having live music played here tonight.
It was quite an adventure seeing him grow up. From falling off his bike and ending up in the hospital with cellulitis in his arm for about a week.
He was never really a star. One thing, Sarah and I both remember is watching him playing soccer and if there was ever a muddy part on the field, he would kick it up and scream, ‘’I would be a soccer start someday.’’
Well, he was a real good player. But he was never a great scorer. He scored just once in 15 games!
Later on, music became his thing and he loved to play guitars.
Barry, my late husband, once said to me that it would take a really special person to take David off our hands and to marry him. Out of the blue, she found that beautiful bride and we couldn’t be prouder that they have become husband and wife.
In the years they’ve been together, it’s obvious to see how she makes him happy and how happy he makes her and it makes me happy to stand here tonight to wish them well and to officially welcome Leslie into your family.
I am going to offer some marriage advice so the marriage advice for you David. Always remember that Alicia is always right.
All I can say to you both is to love each other, be there for each other, and support each other.
There’s nothing you can’t face together and believe me, your love will grow stronger together if you face it together.
Alicia, life is with Dave is not going to be easy. Marriage is never going to be a picnic. But, I can promise you that it’ll never be ever dull because he likes to pull surprises when you least expect it. I wish you both every happiness in your new life together.
